I have specialist experience working with Eating Disorders. I offer Enhanced CBT (CBT-E)  and Family Based Treatment for Eating Disorders as recommended by NICE.

As a sole practitioner, I am unable to manage cases of high risk or offer a crisis response service. If you have an urgent concern, at risk or are in crisis please contact your GP, NHS111, GP out of hours service, or visit your local A&E department.

I  am able to offer a range of services to schools including:

  • Assessment and Consultation of pupils with specific emotional or behavioural needs. This could involve a meeting with the parent/carer(s) and relevant staff as well as a class observation or meeting with the young person. Following assessment, I offer a summary of my understanding of the difficulty and devise a collaborative action plan with recommendations to support the young person both in school and at home. Any assessment and intervention would always be subject to parental consent.

  • Bespoke training for staff addressing specific issues relevant to the needs of a school. Topics addressed could include; managing emotions, identifying signs/classroom management of developmental disorders such as ASD or ADHD, identifying early signs of eating disorders and techniques for coping with stress/building resilience in schools.

  • The provision of short-term group work within school, for example, coping with exam stress, improving social skills, enhancing self-esteem, preparing for transition to secondary school.

Contributing to the the clinical and professional development of others is a particularly rewarding part of my work.

I am an experienced supervisor and have offered supervision to a wide range of professionals including: Clinical Psychologists, Cognitive Behavioural Therapists, Primary Mental Health Workers and Trainee Therapists.

As one of few Child & Adolescent BABCP accredited Cognitive and Behavioural Psychotherapists, I am able to offer specialised Cognitive Behavioural Supervision to count towards the application of,  or continued BABCP accreditation.
